We have been super proud of all of the children this week as we have been writing animal stories. The children have been learning the story pattern of a beginning that describes the setting and introduces the characters, a middle where the characters encounter a problem and an end where the problem gets solved. All children have made good progress with writing a short story. We have learned that we need to keep reminding them to check that they have used capital letters and full stops in the right places. This will be ongoing across the year.

In phonics, we have continuing revising sounds from last term. Next week, we will be investigating the different ways to spell the /s/ sound e.g, s, ss, c, st, ce, se, sc.

In maths, we are continuing to learn about numbers to 100. We have been learning that 52 is 5 tens and 2 ones. We have also looked at 'one more than' and 'one less than'.

In our geography work, we are learning about Great Britain. Next week, we will be focusing on learning about London.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed their balance bike lessons and the instructors have been delighted with their progress.

Many of the children are continuing to move up through the book bands as their word reading and fluency develops. Thank you for contuning to read at home.
