We aim to give children a broad and varied curriculum of physical activities and opportunities in order for them to understand the importance of a healthy active lifestyle, and to enjoy taking part in sporting endeavours.
In Key Stage 1 the children take part in gymnastics, dance and games. This is extended in Key Stage 2 to include athletics and swimming. Each class has two lessons a week, of which one is led by our specialist sports coach Mr Probert. We have a variety of after-school sports which include football, rugby, netball, cross country, and multi-sports.
We also offer a diverse range of specialist courses led by skilled trainers throughout the year such as hockey, tennis and tag rugby. These take place in addition to the timetabled two hours of P.E./ sport per week.
Competitive sport is highly regarded at Meadowdale and pupils throughout the school are given the opportunity to compete against fellow pupils and other schools throughout the year across a wide range of events.
